2021 : Year in Review

What did you accomplish this year?

Well Well

The fact that you are reading this post means you survived the second wave / delta variant and whatnot!

That is the biggest achievement this year, for all of us.

Oh and if you got a promotion at work or switched jobs, traveled to new places, made new friends, kept bonds with old ones, that just means you are very, very lucky.

And if you are someone who is on job hunt, sooner or later you are going to land a job, better than previous one. Just hang in there.

2021 taught us the importance of prioritizing physical and mental health.

The year also taught us that everything is a phase.

The Good Times, The Bad Times. Everything.

If you are someone who is tired of staying at home now or if you are someone who is unable to reach home, know that this is just a phase.

Sooner or later, this shall pass.

Back in March 2021, it looked like things were going back to normal and right after the festival of Holi, everything went downhill.

Apr – June ’21, we all especially in India saw a terrible phase which made everyone helpless. Panic, uncertainty, helplessness, fear. That is how anyone would describe that phase.

And towards the end of June, the number of cases started going down and people started to move on with their lives.

Adapting. That’s what we are good at.

The pace with which vaccination drive started gave everyone hope that we will get through this.

And just when we all thought maybe it is getting better and safer, omnicron made its entry.

Restrictions have been imposed already.

Maybe this is how it is going to be for sometime now.

The unpredictability is getting higher everyday.

Does that mean there is no point in planning? Does that mean we should totally forget about future?

Yes and No.

As the saying goes, plan for the best, prepare for the worst.

But don’t forget to appreciate the present!

Things can go south but they can work out too.

So, enjoy while you can, be grateful that you have made it this far, plan for the times ahead and just be mindful of the dynamic situation we all are in.

Like they say, unprecedented times.
